I can handle it.

I’m pretty sure that everyone has said at some point, some time in their life. Hell, there are even people who say this everyday. I’ll use myself as an example here.

I’ve had a rough start to this year. I mean, shit, it’s only been two months and I swear to god, I’ve probably gone down a bumpier trail than my grandfather’s old pick up has in its entire lifetime. 

For reasons beyond me, I cannot mention any names in this post and I shall refrain doing so. Actually, I’ll refrain from talking about anyone in particular altogether.

But the story has only just begun…

Telling myself I’ll be able to handle it, I guess, was a complete lie. I’m never honest to myself. But who is? I like a challenge, I like adventure, and I love testing the outer limits of my capabilities. I have friends who tell me, “Know your limits,” but fuck that shit. If you know your limit, you’ll never know what’s beyond that… and beyond that, and beyond that. I’ve been graced with the opportunity to push myself everyday, in everything I do, so why stop here? Why now? I’ve got my entire life ahead of me, hopefully, so why end here?!

That’s why I always tell myself I can handle everything that life often throws my way. I usually can… I mean, I’ve made it this far, haven’t I? But sometimes the stress gets to me and I just want to run away. Or maybe close my eyes and hope for something amazing to happen when I open them again.  Nothing ever happens… but that’s the do in life. You want something amazing to happen? You go do it yourself. Simple as that.
